SAFETY

Every precaution is taken to keep the children safe and well at school. If an emergency arises and parents cannot be contacted, the Center's next step is to pursue one of the emergency numbers that you have provided. Please keep us up-to-date on this information.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

There is no better place to celebrate a Birthday than at school with all our friends!!! Parents are welcome to bring in a cake, cupcakes or any other party goodies. HAVE FUN!!!

PARENTS' INVOLVEMENT

The following are rights and duties of parents whose children are enrolled at Prodigy Learning and Day Care Center:

  1. A Parent/Staff conference is needed at the time of enrollment for the purpose of signing the application, informing parents of the Center's  operational policies, and discuss the child's special needs (if any).

  2. A Parent/Staff conference held semi-annually and upon request of the parents and/or staff members.

  3. Annual Open House to which all parents are invited for the purpose of observing and discussing the program.

  4. All parents are welcomed to volunteer their time for the purpose of assisting, especially during Field Trips, seasonal parties or Birthday Parties.

 INCLEMENT WEATHER

Prodigy Learning & Day Care Center will only be closed in the event of unusual weather conditions, such as a paralyzing snowstorm. The Center does not follow the Bayonne School System's criteria for snow days, which closes for almost any snow accumulation. In the event that a blizzard is expected, a telephone number will be posted at Prodigy the previous day. Parents can call in the morning for an up-to-date message.

 SCHOOL CALENDAR

Prodigy is open 12 months a year. However the Center will be closed for the following 10 Holidays:

2 days for Christmas; 2 days for New Year; 2 days for Thanksgiving; 1 day for Good Friday; 1 day for Memorial Day; 1 day for Independence Day; 1 day for Labor Day.

 ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL

The Center is open from 7:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our standard sessions are: Full Day (8:45-3:15); Extended Day (8:00-5:30). Personalized sessions for your particular needs are also available (discuss them with the director at your first conference). There will be no drop-off after 9:00 a.m., unless previously arranged with the staff. However for your convenience, and for emergencies, it will be possible to drop-off a child during snack time (between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m.).

Parents can come to the center at any time to visit or pick up their children. However if they cannot pick up by their regularly scheduled time, the staff should be made aware of the delay in picking up. Parents whose children are picked up after closing hours (6:00 p.m.), will incur a fee of $10.00 for the first half hour, and $10.00 for any subsequent half hour.
