COVID-19 Related Health and Safety Requirements and Rules

We are very excited to open our Center again after more than three months as we strongly believe that childcare is a crucial part of re-opening the economy. However, our biggest priority is to keep all children, parents and staff safe and healthy. In this challenging environment this is only possible with strict safety measures and rules where we closely follow the directives and guidelines as outlined by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (www.nj.gov/dcf/ ) and by the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov ).

Summary how the daily routine will look like:

• Daily temperature checks of children and staff and screening for other COVID-19 symptoms.
• Children and teachers who are sick have to stay home.
• Parents have to wear masks when entering the building.
• Parents can no longer walk past the front-desk but have to drop off and pick up their children right there.
• Social distancing at the front-desk area for drop-off and pick-up.
• No visitors are allowed to enter the Center during operating hours.
• Hand Sanitizers are provided for parents at the front-desk.
• Cleaning and sanitizing frequently touched areas and items as well as toys several times per day.
• Staff is required to wear masks at all times.
• Small groups of maximal 10 children (classrooms will not get divided!)

Additional measures and enhancements:

• All classrooms, the playroom, furniture, equipment and toys have been professionally cleaned and sanitized before re-opening.
• A safety screen got installed at the front-desk to ensure social distancing.
• Infrared Forehead Thermometers get used for the daily temperature check.
• Each classroom has a high-end air purifier with HEPA filters (Honeywell HPA300).
• Classrooms and toys get cleaned with a commercial steam-cleaner at the end of each day, in addition to the frequent cleaning throughout the day.
• New non-stain and easy-to-clean carpets have been installed in the hallway and both Infant classrooms.

Many procedures are just an extension of the regular daily routine as we know it but some measures may appear difficult to follow and we all have to get used to it. Remember, all rules serve the purpose to prevent the potential spread of the virus and to keep our children, staff and everybody around us healthy.
