Our program

Prodigy Learning and Day Care Center combines childcare and preschool services and strives to emphasize the “learning” part and combining it with the fun part. Our goal is to give the children a broad and solid foundation by introducing a variety of topics and activities; we also believe in the simple and, let’s call it traditional way of learning with real, hands-on and interactive activities. 

Infant Classes

• Children will follow their natural routine for naps and feeding.
• In between, there is plenty of floor time with group and individual play, music time (singing, dancing, and instruments),   story time, exercise, finger-play, and interaction with puzzles, blocks, cars etc. 
• Both Infant classes also go out into the playroom or playground for 30 minutes in the morning.

Toddler Class

• The daily schedule starts with Circle Time at 9.00a.m. and ends around 4.00p.m. 
• Children will get introduced to Language Arts (letters of the alphabet, introduction to words, colors) and Math (numbers and shapes).
• Children will also learn about different topics like animals, fruit etc. For example, along with “The Letter of the Week”, the teachers introduce “The Animal of the Week” whose name - of course - starts with “The Letter of the Week”. As part of an educational element, the class will talk about this animal every day and learn many details and characteristics about it. Life-like mini-animals get introduced so that the children can see, feel and of course play with it.
• In addition, the daily schedule includes music classes/ activities where all children will be able to make a lot of noise with toy instruments, clapping, stomping, singing and dancing.
• The teachers prepare daily arts & craft activities/ projects in the morning and in the afternoon to support the children’s creativity and of course keep them busy. 
• Other daily activities include: blocks, puzzles, finger-play, group lessons, dramatic play and outdoor play

Preschool Classes

• Both Preschool classes have a weekly schedule with classes in Language Arts, Math, Science, Music, Arts, and Physical Education (Gym).
• Circle Time starts at 9.00 a.m. (Pre-K 1) and 9.30 a.m. (Pre-K 2) and sometimes gets built in during the day and we added a variety of topics like geography, weather, health and fitness, ways of transportation etc. 
• The Science class features a weekly science project, which the teachers talk about during the week.
• Both Preschool classes also introduce homework to all students.
• A “Career-Day/Week” in Pre-K 2, where each child will be able to dress up as the professional she/he would like to be when they grow up.
• We also introduced quarterly themes in each classroom, where children will target one specific topic (for example “Life in the Ocean”, “Space”, or “Life on a Farm”) from a variety of angles – a field-trip, crafting projects, educational toys featuring the theme, stories and everything will be combined with Language Arts (letters) and Math (numbers, shapes).
• Preschool 2 students who will go to Kindergarten will graduate in that year and will be more than well prepared for the challenges in Elementary School!
